Gratitude my most favorite topic. I've talked about it a little bit before, if you can get your gratitude game up, your gratitude practice, it is life changing. It is one of the most beneficial practices that I've added to my life and it's not even a huge deal. It's completely subtle, but this is what I do. It's a whole mind shift and it's easy to be like, “Oh, thank you, God, for waking me up this morning!” And that's true. I definitely thank God for waking me up this morning, but there's more.
When I wake up in the morning and this is my practice and I offer this practice to you. When I wake up in the morning before I even get out of the bed, I say three things that I'm grateful for and this seems, Oh, gosh, that's so simple, right? I may say, I'm thankful for my bed, I'm thankful for my heating pad, I'm thankful for this toothbrush like this charcoal toothbrush that I got from Costco has a black bristles, but it's just like a really good grip, because the thing is, every day you do this, this practice, this game, I dare say, you have to say something different every day.
So even if you've said that you were grateful for your toothbrush six months ago, you can't go back, right? So it has to be something new every day and it's fun. Every day when you wake up, there's three things that you're grateful for, and maybe three is too hard to start. Maybe you just wake up and you say one thing, but you get up to three things, and every day, it's something different and it just really gives you a chance to see how beautiful the world is, how awesome your own personal life is and it sets up a habit of being grateful and appreciating what you have and not that you're wanting to stay where you are, but when you appreciate what you have, I believe, it really gives you the space to want to grow and not that you're just being stagnant or I'm thankful for what I already have and you are and I am, but that doesn't mean you want to stay there. God wouldn't give you the thought to have more, to be more, to do more if it wasn't for you to have more, be more and do more. God wouldn't put that in, so it starts with gratitude and it starts with being thankful for what you have, so start a simple but powerful gratitude practice. When you wake up, before you can get out of the bed. Three things that you're grateful for. I am thankful
