What is elevator pitch? Your elevator pitch is if you had 30 seconds, you're riding on an elevator with some people and you're telling them what you do. You aren't trying to sell them, you aren't trying to close them, you aren't trying to get them to buy your product, you're just making an introduction and letting them know what you do.
So what does that look like? So when I come on here and I say “This is Nyota, your adaptability coach and leadership strategist.”That is a little version of it. It could be like “I am Nyota, your adaptability coach and leadership strategist. I help high performers struggling to use their hard-earned skills to be more adaptive.” And that's what I want you guys to create within this challenge and I want you to have this when you leave. I want you to have this little tag line that you can use on Facebook, you can use on Instagram, you can use on social media. It should be pretty concise and I say your adaptability coach, because I feel like I can beat anyone's coach because we all have these hard-earned skills that we've learned and earned and we all have space to be more adaptable, so I'm bold with it.
Now, the fuller, the wide and a lot of that actually is a minute to say it, and it says:
"I'm Nyota Gordon, United States Army retiree with over 22 years of active service, I had a hard transition from military to civilian life because I lacked structure and purpose. Now I get to use my skills to be an adaptability coach and leadership strategist. I created Transition365 to help high performers struggling to use their hard-earned skills to be more adaptable in their careers, businesses and homes. I teach them to be able to respond quickly to changing ideas, responsibilities, expectations, trends and strategies. Together, we use entrepreneurship as a vehicle to create their new life's mission that creates a new stream of income for others their service. We get rid of limiting beliefs and replace them with powerful uncertainties.”
This is the formula: Who are you? What do you do and the main thing is what is the problem that you solve? My problem that I solve is for those high performers that are struggling to use the skills that they already have to be more adaptable. So, what problem do you solve?
If you don't know how to shape this, just don't type what you do, just say what you do. Make a recording and just say who you want to help, who you want to serve and I will help you bundle this right up. Post it under this one so I won't be looking for it. Put it under here and I help you with it. I want to. I know how, I do.
