Sometimes it's so easy to not focus on the things that we can do and we get so caught up in it, like losing weight or thinking that we need to lose weight or get more healthy. We always want to focus on what we're going to take away, what we're going to not do instead of focusing on what we can do. What I can do is add another serving of fruits. What I can do is add another serving of vegetables and focus on that. Focus on the things that are good. We want to focus on trying to get more strong and get more fit. But you automatically think that you have to walk out of the house and walk of full ten miles when that's not realistic. But what you can do is walk two and a half minutes out and walk two and a half minutes back to your house. Focus on what you can do.
We get so caught up on looking at other people's paper and you think that what you're doing is not enough. When we’re focused on what we can do, we can help. We can help friends. We can help people that we know and guess what? We can help people that we don't know. American Legion Post 244, my friend Eric, he is the commander there and after Hurricane Laura had a devastating impact on Louisiana, so what he is doing is he is actually taking action and focusing on what he can do. Now, your level of can do may not be his level of can do, but your level of can do is your level of can do. Your level of can do, may not be that I can get in my truck and drive down to Louisiana and help cut down trees. Well, your can do can help and I appreciate that Eric asked me to help because he knows that I do what I can do, which is sharing this conversation with a bunch of powerful, adaptable, caring leaders that are looking to make an impact not just on these big stages and across the globe, but right here in our communities, right here in our own country, right here with people that we know and don't know because they're our neighbors.
So when we're talking about focusing on what we can do, you can take steps to be better. You can take steps to be greater. You can take steps to be a better neighbor. You can take steps to be more healthy. You can take steps to heal. You can take the steps but focus on what you can do and not what you think you can't do. So if I ask you, I beg you, I encourage you to click on the PayPal links, send a donation, words of encouragement. If you are in the area, connect with Eric and see what you can do to help the people of Louisiana, and be able to get some kind of normality in their community. In the phase of COVID and everything that we have going on here, the only thing that you really have, what's normal is inside of your house, with what's going on with your family and now that their normality for them has been taken away. So let's see what we can do to help. Let's show what leadership truly is. If it's a dollar, if it's a nickel. I do not know the minimum amount that PayPal can take, but just do what you can do because that's what leaders do.
